Learning as I go, I’ve started assembling the frames to resemble a boat. A retro, all wood, dual cockpit runabout that is remenisent of the 1930’s and 40’s ChrisCrafts. It will be powered by a 1956 johnson 30hp outboard, and run on the Great South Bay, Long Island, New York. The great south bay is the body of water that exists between the south shore of LI and the barrier island that separates us from the Atlantic Ocean, which is known as Long Beach or Fire Island. The GSB is loaded with islands, pristene coves, and white sandy beaches, as well as restaurants, bars, and parks, including Jones Beach State Park, which has an awesome concert venue. Thanks for watching! Stay tuned and see how it works out. Jim

@SuperUnknownMC I’m also building a Zip. It’s not complete and most of the photos I’ve taken along the way have been lost due to a computer malfuntion. But I really do believe I’ll have it in the water this spring.
@L0udP1p3 thanks pal
@hulmeag no kidding, build a zip, great, hope you post some vids
@KeukaRyder looks like we are both on the same page
@nightrider250R without a doubt, spring is on the way
@WoodenYouKnowIt thank you sir
Those gaps you’re worrying about will be filled in when you epoxy the plywood on. From what I can see, you’ve got a very excellent build going there. Using the plywood scrap is showing what you have to do and YOU’RE doing it. Way to go!! I’m glad you’re a part of the Glen-L bunch.
@classicoutboards I ll be cruising down the thames in no time.
Git er done
@classicoutboards thanks pal, we’re getting there.
very nice
Looks good to me except that little gap you talk about at 4:17 and whats causing it.
But, what do I know.
Great Looking Build. I have just started the ZIP only made the Stem so far. I like the idea of laminating the chines and will do the same now you have made it look easy.
I’ve built some furniture pieces in the past, but never a boat. Looks good.
@ToastToGo thanks pal,
@aeroliner750 looks like a boat, right. Spring in 7 weeks.
Great progress.
