   P. S. Why not buy a complete set of plans with all the hardware and full size plans? This would make the construction and completion of the boat assured.

   Specifying the type of boat would help but some designers also give away a plan or two to introduce people to boat building like http://www. jemwatercraft. com/free. php for kayak/canoe plans and http://www. bateau. com/freeplans. php for a canoe and a small dinghy. Both have reasonable priced and well done plans in my opinion as well as these free plans. Also check out the free plans at http://home. clara. net/gmatkin/design. htm. Finally, I would read up on boat building stuff at http://www. duckworksmagazine. com

   Jim Michalak’s plans aren’t free but they are so cheap I thought I would include them too. You can find links and descriptions to them and other plan’s at the DuckWork’s Magazine website.
