Stage props will be chosen by the audience and community groups invited to a unique performance that traces the history of one of the most iconic images in Welsh history. Other theatre sets will come nowhere near to the stage props and setting used in the production of The Stream in the Sky at the Llangollen Pavilion. The stage props, costumes, theatre sets and dialogue will all be based on a number of findings from Reminiscence Days and school consultation days that were carried out by ACTIVATE Performing Arts group. School children have been very involved in the performance as they actually designed and made a lot of the props themselves. Their participation does not end there however, as pupils from Ysgol Dinas Bran school also wrote the title song for the performance, The Stream in the Sky. Local communities and school groups are invited to a performance based on the rich history of Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and the waterway which flows over it. Audience members from the local community and surrounding areas will be transported along with the cast under the premise of a canal boat holiday. The cast will then be able to delve into the rich history and cultural significance of the Aqueduct in shaping the land and towns in its vicinity. Speaking about the performance to website www. denbighshirefreepress. co. uk, community development officer Piers Warburton said: ” During the performance you will also gain an insight into the local heritage and biodiversity from within the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Canal World Heritage Site. “The Aqueduct links the villages of Froncysvllte and Trevor. It was actually completed in 1805 and is now a World Heritage Site and Grade I Listed Building. Not only is it of historical relevance, it is also the longest and highest aqueduct in the whole of the British Isles.
