I’m trying to figure otu the name of an old video game i played in school once?

Once in my history class, we played a game that used a cd rom for the computer. It had to do with boats and trade routes and building your colonies, and attacking other boats, it was based around the time of britain colonies and things of that sort, i hope this is enough information for someone to know what im talking about, i cant remember much more about it, if you know what im talking about PLEASE tell me the name
