I’m looking in building a tidal dock (dock that’s able to rise and fall with the tide). Cost per square foot?

This dock will be 120′ long and 6′ wide and located on the James River near Richmond, VA. The pilings would be required to stick out of the water 8′-0″. At this point, railings would not be necessary. This dock would be used as a canoe launch primarily. I have been looking at aluminum floating docks for low-maintnance and durability reasons, but would possibly consider a wooden dock only if the aluminum floating dock is too much. Can anyone provide a cost/sqft on either of these options so that I’m able to determine a budget?

The first thing you should check into is if a building permit is required and building codes for docks.
