Efforts to control algae at Grand Lake St. Marys prompt optimism
The state plans to spray about 3.3 million gallons of alum on most of the lake starting next month and dredge hundreds of thousands of cubic yards of sediment. Ohio also is building the first of what could be many impoundments in feeder streams to try to block farm runoff.
